Wood Flooring
If you have a single board in the middle of a room, or you’re trying to add wood to another area of your house to match your existing flooring, we have the ability to do that as well as any other repair that you may have.
Wood Flooring Dust Containment
Refinishing a hardwood floor used to be an extremely dusty job, and it is often still thought of as such. Dust is not only hazardous to the homeowner and contractor, but it is also a huge pain to clean up. Our BONA Atomic Dust Containment System is the most advanced and powerful dust containment system available. Studies show that with this dust containment system, 99.8% less dust is spread throughout the air and your house over the traditional sanding process. Along with our Atomic trailer we also use a HEPA Air Scrubber that will run the entire time we are in your house, eliminating 90% of airborne dust. We understand that dust is a primary concern for homeowners (and with good reason), because of this we do take dust containment very seriously. At the end of the day....Dust settles, but you don’t have to!
Wood Flooring Sheen
When choosing the finish for wood floors, consider your lifestyle and maintenance preferences. All wood floors will require routine maintenance, such as sweeping or dust mopping, to keep them looking beautiful and new, but the finish will have a big impact on how the floor is maintained long-term, as well as how it will look in the years to come.
Each finish option comes in a variety of sheens. Each sheen has a different level of shine, which will impact the appearance of the floor.
Gloss sheen offers the most shine and reflect the most light.
Semi-gloss sheen offers less shine than gloss and will reflect less light than gloss, but more light than satin.
Satin sheen offers less shine than semi-gloss and will reflect less light than semi-gloss, but more light than matte. 95% of our homeowners either select satin sheen or matte.
Matte sheen offers the least shine and will reflect the least light. This finish also is sometimes referred to as flat. Becuase matte sheen reflects the least amount of light, it hides everyday scratches better than any of the other finish options.
We use all waterbased finishes. We believe that with advancements in the industry and product market there is no reason to continue to use the older oil based finishes.
Durability: In a third party test, waterbased finishes proved to be more durable, and resist wear and tear better than oil based finishes.
Indoor air quality: Waterbased finishes don’t pollute the air with harmful levels of dangerous chemicals or particulates
Cure time: Oil based finishes take over 4 times longer to dry and 2-3 times longer to fully cure.
Color: Waterbased finishes go on clear, and stay clear throughout their life cycle. Oil modified finishes have an amber tone and will continue to yellow over time.
